The Fruiting Bodies - Art Print
Giclee fine art print illustrated by Abi Overland.
Mushrooms are known as the fruiting bodies of the fungi, and have been revered for their spiritual significance across civilisations spanning history owing to their hallucinogenic effects, healing medicinal properties and how they shape our natural world.
They are neither plant nor animal yet they are the main character in our ecosystem. Below the surface they weave a network of microscopic fungal threads, whereby they help other plants share nutrients and communicate through chemical signals. They are also play a key role in the decomposition and recycling of both organic and inorganic matter throughout the biome as they grow and reproduce.
